The Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside have kindly agreed to provide us with a bit of hospitality at either the beginning or end of our swim, which will be most welcome either way and hopefully a great boost not only to us but also our support crew. We e-mailed and met the hotel manager, Matt Stanaway, recently and he was very keen to help, which was great! He also sorted out with the Amlbleside car parking guru for some free spots to be made available for our supporters and the kayak transport. So if you are ever going to Ambleside and are in need of a hotel, you know where to go...!
Distant Horizons UK have been very generous and have agreed to sponsor our swim to the tune of kayaks for our support crew plus two experienced canoers to paddle alongside us on the day! This has been a real boost to us and it's a great motivation that others are impressed enough by what we're trying to do to get involved themselves - so a huge THANK YOU to Jason Beverly and eveyone else at the company from us. Distant Horizons support a range of charity events and last year hit the £300,000 mark for money raised for good causes.
