We'll upload new photos onto this page as and when we take them...

There are also a few videos of both of our lake swim which can be watched on Facebook - we have yet to work out how to upload them onto this website...

Here are a load of snaps from our recent trip to the Lakes when we swam in Windermere for a wopping four hours forty minutes.  There are also videos on our Facebook page - we've given up trying to fathom the mysteries of getting them onto this website!

Getting the boat out and ready to go...

Many thanks to Al for lending us his inflatable kayak - it has been an invaluable training aid without which things would have been much trickier to organise.  Highly appreciated!

 Getting into our wetsuits...

Above: In full flow, Jen is expertly drafting Matt.  Above right: Turning at the buoy after two hours. Right: I'm knackered!   Below: Packing up the boat and trying to warm up - a cold wind seemed to start blowing the moment we got out of the water!

Here is a link to the votwo website - the company who organised our recent Long Swim.  There are general photos of the race on their website - we will add our own, plus some other choice snaps very soon... We get a mention at the bottom of the article!

Here are a few snaps from our recent, somewhat unsuccessful (in swimming terms, although not in other respects - see the blog) weekend in the Lakes.  We also met a professional photographer at Wast Water who should be sending us some choice piccies so hopefully they will be on here soon aswell...

A rather brooding and freezing cold Wast Water as viewed from the track up to Scafell Pike.  Meltwater from the deep snow and blizzards at the summit probably didn't help matters!  Certainly not the most inviting of swimming venues...

Camping on the banks of Windermere at Low Wray.  The Lake was so peaceful, serene and friendly compared to Wast Water (now christened Hell Water!) that we felt much better about the swim!

Here are some choice snaps from our recent trip to Wast Water in the Lake District to practice open water swimming and try to gain a better idea of what we have let ourselves into...

Jen, before and after...

Matt about to start swimming

Here's a few from our first dip in the sea with our (yes, matching) wetsuits...
